# Wallet Risk Screening

> Configure how wallets are screened for risk and what happens at each risk level.

## Overview

Sonar screens every wallet address for exposure to risky on-chain activity. Each wallet is assigned a **risk level** (Low, Medium, or High), and you decide in the Echo Founder Dashboard what happens at each level.

Screening runs automatically:

* When a participant **registers a wallet** to their entity
* **Before each purchase** is permitted

## Enabling Wallet Screening

1. Open your sale in the [Echo Founder Dashboard](https://echo.xyz).
2. Go to **Sale settings → Wallet requirements**.
3. Toggle on **Require AML (Anti-Money Laundering) checks**.

Once enabled, you configure one action per risk level.

## Risk Levels

| Risk level | What it means |
| - | - |
| **Low** | No meaningful indicators of risky activity — usage appears typical. |
| **Medium** | Noticeable exposure to higher-risk services (e.g., gambling, no-KYC exchanges, instant coin swaps), making problematic funds more likely than usual. |
| **High** | Direct or recent links to known bad actors or obfuscation services (e.g., scams, theft, ransomware, darknet markets, mixers), pointing to a higher likelihood of tainted funds. |

## Actions Per Risk Level

For each risk level, choose one of three actions:

| Action | Effect |
| - | - |
| **No blocking** | The wallet and the investor remain eligible. |
| **Block wallet only** | The specific wallet cannot be used to purchase, but the entity can still participate with other registered wallets. |
| **Block entity** | The entity is completely blocked from investing, regardless of which wallet it uses. |

**Default configuration:**

* Low risk → No blocking
* Medium risk → Block wallet only
* High risk → Block entity

  Choose "Block entity" for risk levels where you want to prevent circumvention — blocking only the wallet lets a flagged participant simply register a different wallet.

## Wallet Management

The **Wallet management** page in your sale dashboard gives you two tools:

**Wallet checker**

Check the eligibility status of any specific wallet address against your current risk settings before or during the sale.

**Allowlist**

Add wallet addresses that should remain eligible even if they would otherwise be blocked by your risk settings. Allowlisted wallets bypass automated screening entirely — useful for treasury addresses or known partners. You can add and remove allowlisted addresses yourself at any time; no support request needed.
